Policy, Terms, and Conditions
To enroll with GreenMark Writing, please review the following Letter of Engagement, hereafter "Letter," which outlines terms, conditions, practices, and policies.
Advising
GreenMark Writing is a service whereupon clients receive advice throughout the writing process. Services are advisory, plain and simple. It makes no promises or guarantees. It cares less about admissions than it does about writing and students growing as critical thinkers.
Preparing For Class and Meeting Progress
GreenMark coaches students to think critically about writing critically. Nothing brings greater joy than students creating writing they can be proud of. That product, however, is part of a structured process. As such, program fees include initial consultations, pre-writing work, and instructional guidance between and during sessions. With each instructional package, GreenMark sets reasonable expectations for students to achieve their goals. Students may share up to and including 650 words of writing per one hour of meeting; they must share that writing at least 24 hour in advance so that GreenMark can review the writing thoroughly for the upcoming meeting; students may not share 650 words of writing and then dedicate the in-hour time to new or other writing. For supplemental essays that fewer than 650 words but set at some word limit, students must submit or share at or below said word limit. Please note that for every one hour of meeting, GreenMark prepares approximately one hour in advance of the meeting; these two hours help to explain pricing. For the One-on-One Single, Standard, and Supreme packages, GreenMark supports students in developing a customized schedule, wherein students neither over-schedule nor under-utilize services. GreenMark reserves the right to discontinue services and not issue a refund if students are not in compliance with a mutually agreed upon schedule.
Student Work and Responsibilities
GreenMark is a writing service that supports students in the writing process. Of course, peers, parents, relatives, educators, and counselors can advise students on components of the writing process. However, they are discouraged from doing so. Students should work on the writing themselves to find their voice, and GreenMark coaches and supports them in their writing journey. The addition of too many voices in the writing process can (and often does) slow down the writer. Should students receive additional input from others that compromises the work done with GreenMark, it reserves the right to cancel appointments or even discontinue service absent a refund. Should parents interfere with students' writing process and general practices (i.e. make demands that alter GreenMark's service and value, require students to write "better" or "differently" or to emphasize "this" instead of "that"), GreenMark reserves the right to discontinue services and not issue a refund.
Scheduling, Rescheduling, Cancellations, and General Consultation
GreenMark asks students and parents to schedule appointments through the online reservation system. Rescheduling and cancellations are completed online as well. Should clients need to reschedule, they may access the online scheduling system or contact GreenMark via email. Clients may not cancel or change appointments less than 24 hours in advance.
Students should schedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance. If students have writing to share, they must share writing 24 in advance of the meeting. If students do not share writing 24 hours before the meeting, they risk losing this meeting time without the possibility of a refund.
Clients schedule and submit full deposit in advance. For the One-to-One Single package tutoring, a full deposit is due before meetings; for the One-on-One Standard package, a one-time payment is due before the first meeting, and clients are allotted seven meetings wherein each of those seven meetings require approximately seven additional hours of preparation from GreenMark's end ; for the One-on-One Supreme package, a one-time initial payment is due before the first meeting. Should clients need to cancel an appointment, they may do so before the scheduled appointment. If clients cancel within one day's notice, GreenMark reserves the right to charge the meeting fee if it is unable to fill that time slot. GreenMark is flexible, however, in cases of emergency (family, health, etc.); clients subject to an emergency may cancel within 24 hours, and the fee is waived. GreenMark permits one emergency cancellation per client. Students may not schedule more than once on the same day.
Should parents/guardians seek out additional questions or feedback about students' progress, writing ideas, and/or admissions results, they are granted one complimentary conference call, phone call, or extended multi-paragraph written message. This includes, but is not limited to, email and other messaging correspondences. GreenMark has established this policy because parents/guardians may sometimes impose on the writer’s experience on their behalf and because back-and-forth inquiries do take time out of GreenMark’s work. For any additional parent/guardian inquiries, GreenMark will charge the equivalent of one One-on-One Single meeting. GreenMark enforces this policy for those seeking out additional consultation (i.e. extended phone calls and email inquiries) that go beyond what is typically provided to students.
Payments
Clients pay through the online payment system. A valid credit card is necessary for payment. Meeting sessions are secured once deposits are received. Clients who do not pay in advance of a meeting risk losing their reservation, which will be made available to other clients.
If balances are not received within each service’s deadline, GreenMark will charge the balance to the credit card on file.
GreenMark does not accept prorated payments.
GreenMark will not accept Supreme package clients switching or transferring to Single or Standard packages at or beyond four meetings.
Refunds
Deposits for the One-on-One Single package are refundable if clients cancel at least 24 hours in advance. The One-on-One Standard and Supreme packages are not refundable once GreenMark meets with clients.
If clients look to cancel any services more than one month after initial purchase, GreenMark will not issue a refund.
